Founder Story – Brenda Dixon

There was a time when I was doing everything — working, mothering, mentoring, surviving. But in the middle of all the doing… I was quietly unraveling. I looked strong on the outside, but inside, I was tired. I needed something I couldn’t find in a checklist or calendar. I needed silence.

Not the silence of avoidance — but the kind that heals.
So I started walking the land. Listening. Praying. Letting nature and God speak in the stillness.
That’s when Echoes of Silence was born — not as a business plan, but as a heart whisper.
I created this place for people like me. For teen girls trying to find their voice. For mothers who carry too much. For men who were taught to stay strong but never taught how to rest.

For those grieving, questioning, or simply needing to breathe again.
Echoes of Silence is a sacred space where we lay down the weight of “doing” and return to the wisdom of just being.
Every retreat we offer — whether it's a fire circle for fathers and sons, a healing day for teen girls, or a silent walk for weary hearts — comes from the soil of my own story, and the stories of so many I’ve walked with.

Here, you are not expected to perform.
Here, your quiet is honored.
Here, your soul gets to breathe.

You don’t have to arrive perfectly. You just have to come.
